Clean, serene, white interiors!

It's been too long since we've had a post dedicated to beautiful, white interiors! Well, say no more...

I don't think I get tired of seeing this image.

...or this one

love the upholstery

These four images are from a guest room...I think I'd overstay my welcome...

A gorgeous apartment!

I watched the movie "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" a few weeks ago with a friend and was surprised at the gorgeous apartment/studio of Alex, Jessica Biel's character. The apartment has an eclectic feel with some traditional elements thrown in. The walls are painted light yellow, light blue, and are covered in paintings and photography. My clothes are nowhere near nice enough to hang on an open rack, but I like the look, especially with the exposed brick wall. I also like how the bed was visually separated by two curtains hanging at each end corner.

Amy Butler: Always a classic or already cliche?

There was a little bit of controversy when Amy Butler's fabrics became available to all manufacturers but were still labeled "For non-commercial use" on the selvage. Everything has been clarified now, and Amy Butler fabrics are now available for use by manufacturers. That being said, Amy's fabrics are showing up EVERYWHERE. An unfortunate side effect of anything that enjoys so much popularity is that it runs the risk of becoming cliche. Or, just the opposite can happen and the item in question can become a classic. Do you agree? Do you think Amy Butler is doomed to be cliche, good enough to be a classic, or would you love the products/hate the products regardless?

Pottery Barn's bright new textiles

It's my belief that Pottery Barn's forte is it's textiles. They always have a wide variety of patterns, colors, and fabrics. They've also recently begun commissioning artists and print houses. For example, this Jillian Patchwork bedding ensemble was commissioned from an exclusive London print house (go to www.potterybarn.com for more info.)

Too afraid to commit to a bright color on your walls? No worries, you can introduce them with one of their upholstered or slipcovered chairs. You can to online and select a chair, and then select the fabric you'd like to use on the chair. It's a great way to add visual impact to a room, without such a permanent measures at carpeting or paint.

You can also purchase fabric by the yard... so if you're yearning for some bold cafe curtains for your kitchen, you can make them yourself. And of course, they also utilize these fun fabrics by the means of decorative pillows, for those of you with even more commitment issues.
