Giveaway: Beautiful words turned into beautiful art

Lucky Tuesday Decorology readers!  I haven't held a giveaway in a while, so why not today?  This giveaway is for something I particularly like, and is near and dear to my heart.  It's for art (I have my degree in illustration),...and literature (I know how to read) ...and the beauty of typography (I'm a web designer).  I will award two posters by Affichionado to two lucky, randomly drawn winners. Check it out below:

One of my favorite heroine's stories, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, is artfully composed on this poster.  The first winner drawn will win this poster.

The second winner drawn will win the adorable and pretty Alice poster.  I think this would look especially cute in a nursery or little girl's room.

Another cool thing is that the posters can be hung landscape or portrait. The paper they are printed on is top notch, in fact, they look great even unframed.
I think The Narrative of Sojourner Truth poster looks particularly snazzy hanging in my little home office - what do you think?

To enter, use the widget below to either "Like" Affichionado on Facebook, "Like" Decorology on Facebook, and/or tell us what literary masterpiece you'd like to see on a poster. Each option you complete earns you another entry in the giveaway. The contest will close on November 21 at 12:01 AM EST. The first name drawn at random will receive the Pride and Prejudice poster, and the second name drawn at random will receive the Alice's Adventure in Wonderland poster. You must use the widget for your entry(ies) to be counted.

Beautiful and creative ways to display art and objects

I never feel like a room is finished until I have hung all the artwork that I have planned for the space.  I even like to hang 3D objects, like musical instruments, objects found in nature, and travel momentos.  It helps that you can find frames for almost anything these days; shadow box frames, digital frames, puzzle frames, memorabilia frames, etc.

It's not always so easy to decide how to arrange these items in their respective frames, or how to arrange the frames on the wall.  Here are some ideas for displaying and framing various art and objects.

Ledges, as seen in the two images above, are probably the least expensive and require the least commitment.  When thoughtfully arranged with your objects are art, they can be really special.

On the left hand side of this image you can see some 3-D objects nicely composed with some traditionally framed art.  If the objects were just floating in a space on their own they would not look like art, but more like an after though.

Trouser hangers are a cool way to hang items that you may want to change out frequently.  If you have a fabric fetish, you could even have your latest fabric purchases on display.

If you have many objects that fit into one theme, like wine, coordinating display frames and shelving may be the easiest way to fit your needs.

Bottles are a cute way to display sand, shells, or pebbles

Antique intaglios are framed and displayed above the bed here, but it's also a pretty way to display coins or sentimental but never-worn jewelry.

Another casual look, which would look good in a home office of young person's room, is to pin art to the wall in a nice arrangement

I think one of my favorite looks might be one large dramatic piece.

Great inspiration for hanging art and some good old eyecandy

I'm having trouble accomplishing anything today, but I thought the least I could do is get a post up!

These yummy pics are from Real Simple mag - and show some clever ways to display beloved art.

I like art on the floor leaned against the wall. It's modern and keeps things from looking "too precious"

No one will be able to resist walking up and taking a closer look when a small piece has a solo performance above a dramatic mantle.

This is a new idea - create a horizontal line out of family photos or art across a long empty wall space - no space between frames required!

An intriguing and whimsical housetour

I'm leaving for my big trip tomorrow - 9 weeks in 11 different countries. I'm freaking out a little -feeling just completely overwhelmed. I'm going to try to post as often as possible - depending on our hotel(s) internet situation - as I'm not bringing my laptop- yikes! I'm already suffering from phantom laptop syndrome. I know I should be posting something traveling related - but I'm just a little too scatter-brained to put anything together - so I'm going with a tried and true house tour.

This home is really different from anything else I've seen before. I think for the most part it somehow manages to avoid being over the top though. What do you think? Too quirky for you?

great wall color!

That painting is the only thing I couldn't really live with

Apartment 2 from "2 very chic apartments.."

Now enter sister Victoria's apartment. As you can tell, she's very influenced by the glamor of the 50s and 60s, but with a clean traditional feel as well. I really like her color palettes.

a gorgeous renovation for this small but great kitchen

This shot is so pretty - the narrow drawers and the hydrangea and mirror.

It's all so pretty!
