Amazing inspiration from my favorite blogs

It was other blogs that got me started blogging, so I try to set aside some time every week to peruse three blogs from my blogroll and share my findings with you. Enjoy!

The images below are from the always inspiring Herman Miller "Lifework" blog. Corporate and company blogs can often be a total snorefest, but Lifework is sensational. It really appeals to me because I am a freelance web designer and work from home, and the blog consistently features inspiring home offices from other designers. Super inspiring.

Michelle found this amazing artist who she featured on her blog - Jim Denevan makes temporary drawings on sand, earth and ice that are eventually erased by waves and weather.

Not to miss - the gorgeous rocky coast of Italy's Cinque Terre

The second country we visited on my 9 week trip through Europe was Italy. Our first destination in Italy was Cinque Terre, a section of the coast composed of 5 towns. One can either do a day hike along the stunning blue ocean and stop in each village along the way, or there is a train that stops in each town. We stayed in the town Riomaggiore. "The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site." - wikipedia

Manarola is the second town you'll hit if coming from Riomaggiore.


The two above pictures are of Vernazza, which is built out on a jutting rock and has a lookout tower. Before Vernazza (if coming from Riomaggiore) is Corniglia, the only town of the 5 that is not built right on the coast but up a very long flight of stairs at the top of the hill.

Monterosso al Mare, the most resort like town along the trail. Monterosso is at one end, and Riomaggiore, where we stayed, is at the other, so we started at Riomaggiore and finished at Monterosso.

Two amazing Spanish cities - Bilbao and San Sebastian

More pics from my summer in Europe! I need to pick up the pace a bit as I'm still not through the first country we saw. So today I'm showing you two cities - Bilbao, the capital of Basque Country and home to the famous Guggenheim, and San Sebastian, a resort like city with a great beach - especially for a city!

First, Bilbao -

Morocco Series: A tour of my favorite Moroccan guest house

In between hostel stays, Chris and I treated ourselves to a night in the Riad Lalla Mogador, in the city Essaouira. It's actually priced really reasonably and just feels like a treat!

Our room was very authentic and the furnishings reflected the craft/artisan trade that flourishes in Essaouira
