Wallpaper Murals - What do you think?

I'm sure you've seen them before - wallpaper murals, where just one wall is wallpapered in an overall pattern of image.

I think wallpaper murals, like the one above, can look really charming in boutique hotels - especially if it's relevant to the destination.

They can also make small spaces, like this small dining room, really special and unique.  Just make sure you really, REALLY, like the graphic, and that it's something you can live with for a long time if need be.

I think that the best application for these murals is as childrens wallpaper.  A baby's or kid's room is a great place to get fun and creative.  I still remember the wallpaper in my bedroom as a little girl, and it can be really fun for the kid, and a great way to allow him/her to express themselves.  Along with the ADORABLE image above, here are some more really cute options for a nursery or child's room.  I found these cute designs on the OhPopsi.com .

So cute!

They have thousands of wallpaper murals in many categories.
It was neat to look through the places and landmarks category - and I think a lot of the murals would appeal to world travelers...

...old Paris (I'm reading The Paris Wife right now, so I have Paris on the brain...)

This is a photo of the Aqueduct in Segovia, Spain, the city where Chris and I lived!

What do you think of wallpaper murals ?  Is your vote yay or nay?

I am also super excited to announce that I am hosting an trunk show with Stella and Dot! This is my first time hosting a show like this, and I’m really happy to have the opportunity to share it with Decorology readers. The show is open for 3 weeks, and it’s a great opportunity to get a beautiful gift for Mom in celebration of Mother’s Day, or to simply treat yourself with some new jewelry to complement your Spring wardrobe.

When you enter Ashley White as the hostess, it helps me gain reward points toward my Stella & Dot purchases! Shipping is $5.95 for all orders, and will arrive in about 5 days, in very cute packaging. The hardest part will be picking out what to get, because their selection is all so enticing. I’ve created some inspiration boards based on your favorite style of interiors, to help you narrow down what Stella & Dot pieces might fit you best…

Bright & Beautiful
If you like decorating with bright accent colors or a cheerful palette, they have so many gorgeous beaded necklaces, like the Zahara Bib, or the Palamino Necklace, that you will swoon over.

Chic and Glamorous
If lux and feminine is your taste, they have many stunning options for adorning yourself – the Fringe Necklace is young and glam, as is the Lafayette Cross Body Bag, the Toujours Earrings, and the Chantilly Lace Cuff. All great choices…

Traditional and Timeless
More traditional your style? Than don’t miss one of my Stella & Dot favorites – the Paige Enamel bangle. There is something about it I just adore…the color and the detail are just to die for! The Serenity Small Stone Drops in a perfect shade of light blue, and the Cameron Pendant are also timeless beauties.

Do you dream of far off lands and unique cultural treasures? You might want to check out the Medina Bib Necklace, which will remind you of the amazing artisan works of Marrakesh and Fes…or another one of my fav.’s, the Jules Ring, or the stunning Capri Chandelier Earrings

Or, you can craft Mom her own custom charm necklace for Mother’s Day…

A new favorite in my house tour collection...

This Ohio farmhouse is chock full of second hand, vintage, and antique furnishings and accessories, which simply make it really fun to tour. More than the house though, I love the grounds...
I love this shot...so peaceful

I adore this birdcage as decor, but I'm not really a fan of caging birds...

They scored the four poster bed on ebay.

This chicken coup used to be a cupola.

A shed is used as guest quarters.  I would probably use this as a painting studio though....

The sink is an old soapstone basin.

what do you think of the house and grounds?

A surprisingly chic and modern way to dress your windows

When I think roller blinds, the words chic and modern don't usually pop into my head. I have been searching fruitlessly though for an affordable roman shade for our bedroom window, but finding something simple, crisp, and tailored, within our budget - seems to be impossible. Now, after, seeing these blinds - I'm considering a roller blind. My mom has some in her bathroom, which she really likes. Does anyone have experience with them?

Deciding which window treatments to feature in the home is far from an easy task. Essentially, this choice can determine the overall ambiance of a room. One way to incorporate a great deal of personality and character into the home is to opt for patterned roller blinds.   Typical designs tend to be centered around flowers and patterns, however the variety is huge.

I absolutely love this artistic flower pattern...

Patterns range from traditional damasks to more modern approaches - dots, painterly effects, and stripes.   It also seems that no matter what your color scheme, it's likely you'll find something to complement your palette.

They even make them in eco-friendly and kid-safe versions too.

If you still can't find something you like, it is possible to design your own. DIY kits for roller blinds can be purchased from most hardware and craft stores.
