Window Staging

Each month at
Monticello Antique Mall

a dealer has the opportunity to stage the
front window of the shop
We spent the day Thursday doing this....

I've known for a few months that I would be

doing the October window so I've saved some

"pops"

of orange for a bit of a Halloween

feel without going overboard.

This concrete owl is wonderful -
he actually has glass eyes.

More than Halloween decor for Fall I personally
favor more of a Harvest look.

Sunflowers , pumpkins ,
gourds ,bales of hay, galvanized wash bins
for apple bobbing , corn stalks ,

wheat and antlers

This old boiler pan has figural owl handles .
Since I forgot to take a photo you are going to just have to make the trip to Monticello and see them for yourself :)

While we were there it was time for a re- do of our
mall space

I am a little obsessed with ironstone right now .
My own primitive cabinet at home isn't quite
as full as this one but I'm working on it!

The sweet little ballroom chair has its
original linen fabric covering on the seat.
A little tattered on the edge ,
a bit discolored here and there ,
I guess two "wrongs " can be
just right.

The small table with a glass top the globe is setting on is
actually a hot water heater stand
from the early 1900's.
Was everything made then with an eye for beauty?
Personally, my current hot water heater
is not that cool.

I hope you enjoyed the photos. Its
looking like we're going to have a gorgeous
Fall day here in the Pacific Northwest
so that means get a Starbucks coffee and a paintbrush.
I have the prettiest table and 4 chairs that need
a new coat of paint and some ruffled comfy cushions.
I'll post pictures soon.

You always do such a great job Sue, the bits of orange look just right. I love your cupboard stocked to the brim with all that gorgeous ironstone. That white pitcher on the end is calling my name!

Wish I could see that boiler with figural handles, Sue! I live too far away . . . but still get to enjoy thanks to your great photos.

See you at the end of the month . . . Expo?!
