Many think decor will gravitate toward what
Verena Paepcke - Hjeltness and Scott Boylston ,
design professors at Savannah College of Art and Design , call
" handmade , unique quality
items that will last for decades , creating less waste in the process".
That would mean glamorous , sumptuous , rich fabrics
and luxurious furnishings
Here's the best part of the article
"Or the trend could take the form of repurposed , industrial - style
furnishings with wear and imperfection part of
the appeal( yes!)
Raw , rougher-textured materials. Aged wood. Steel.
Gloria's shop in Athens
Winnie & Tulula's/Sweet Peas
"Think clean white walls , a pine farm table ,
a mix of dining room chairs all painted the same color ,
and a midcentury industrial flea-market
light fixture " says Design Public's head blogger , Becky Harris.
" It's a look that has roots in the Shabby Chic
era from the past 10 years , though now it's less
shabby and tea roses and lilacs have been replaced
with twisted pieces of driftwood and rusty metal."
( BarnHouse season finale )What do you think ?
Is this your look?
This hasn't been my look
before but now.......
I am repainting every little room
in the house to get the redo started.
I love all the whites , neutrals , the burlap , linen ,
rusty peely paint , worn wood...
you get the idea!
I found all these lovely photos while blog hopping in 2009 ,
each one was so beautiful and inspring.
I did not save where they were found.
If you see something familar let me know and
I will give credt where credit is due

I love old things! Love the character it brings into your home. Helping the environment is always a plus. I am just having a little problem with letting go of color-I like it! Maybe I can find a happy medium!
My look to a T! I love the info and all the pics are gorgeous.
Hugs,
Shelley
Love the look too! I especially love rust with gilded pieces. I've always said rust is expensive. In our "world" it's a commodity to be bought and sold and the price never goes down...always up. That's a future worth hedging!

P.S. Have fun picking out your white paint...that's the part that always drives me crazy!
Such gorgeous photos. I too love that kind of look.. have fun redoing your rooms...

I was just looking at my living, hall, kitchen ....... thinking, "I need to repaint". Are you almost done so you can swing by and help me with mine?
I'm sure your rooms are looking GREAT! It would be fun to see pictures. (hint, hint)
Ok, I am in love with the crates on the wall!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this look. The pic with the slipcovered chairs and table in the middle of the bed is just beautiful. Was at the Barn House sale?
After clicking on the picture I asked you about, I know exactly who's space that is. It's Gloria's shop in Athens, Winnie & Tulula's/Sweet Peas. I should have recognized her things. I love them!
yep.. I have to agree it's definitely on it's way in.. and yep.. I am happy about it too!
I think it's amazing how it kind of goes with the times. Everyone's trying to re-use, re-invent, re-purpose. Good for everyone! And everyday people, not corporations, are bringing this to the buyer. That helps everyone!
Your pics are such eye candy, trying to re-do a few thngs around here, such inspiration, thx, Cheryl
